The client wanted a simple design showing the acrobatic nature of swifts and giving the feel of summer.
As they had recently seen large numbers of Alpine Swifts in Dubrovnik, which made quite an impression, some of the swifts were changed to alpine swifts to give the painting a more personal touch.
